procharged and lovin it but.....

so i got my car dyno tuned and the car runs awesome, smooth and pulls reallly nice under boost.

so today i drove around and then i noticed my autometer boost gauge just stuck at just under 0, i get on it a little bit to about 5psi of boost...the gauge moves up and just stays at 5psi now. so im thinking its stuck or something, i drive around...still nothing... i decide to give it a few "love" taps (on the actual gauge with my hand) and it moves under 0 again....tap it again...ect and now the damn thing is starting at 20psi and moving to where the boost lettering is when i get on it LOL

.....what gives? is the boost gauge faulty? can i do anything about this other than buying a new one? i checked all the lines and they were perfectly fine..

by the way, the gauge was working sooo good until now. i dont know what gives

Definitely sounds like a bad gage. I had to have an Autometer fuel pressure gage replaced because it was sticking.

It sounds like a lot of people have problems with autometer gauges. I was gonna get their C2 wideband and boost gauges but should I stay away from Autometer?

I would check your vacuum lines just to ensure they are tight and not leaking. If that's good then I'd say replace it as well.

My autometer gauges worked just fine. If you know some else with a boost gauge maybe you borrow theirs to make sure it your gauge. You should be at about 19in of vac at idle.

I have been using autometer for 12 years and never had a guage go bad yet... But then agian I swap out my guages for a new style every 4 years or so. Right now I have all C2s and they are awsome ( I would recomend the autometer dimmer box though as they get a little bright at night ). Congrats on the procharger, gotta love them...

I'd say bad gauge. For boost mechanical is king! Electrical is only for datalogging IMO.

Check the vacuum line leading to it..sometimes the plastic line may split or get melt from engine heat
