My goal isn't to crack 400 though lol. My goal is to not have to upgrade. If I can make 800 with a 1.7 and less than a 175 shot I might get one. If not then I'm not gonna waste my time

Shitty.

IMO...KB shouldn't offer that kit. It's too expensive for the little HP you get.

You won't be hitting 800hp w/ the 1.7. That's why I was sayin' they shouldn't even offer a kit that isn't upgradeable. There's a debate goin' on w/ this over on SVTP. It's cheaper for me to do an Eaton swap on my 01, but a new 2.8KB head unit rather than buying the 1.7L kit from KB and I'll only be making around 460 @ 9psi on it and it's about maxed.

+1...if your lookin to make 800 run far far away from a 1.7...its jus flat out not big enough for your needs. I plan to ramp mine up to 14 psi someday when I get a built bottom end and I cant afford to upgrade it lol when I get the cash it'l get a 2.6 lol

I'd say the max hp for the 1.7 would be around 450-470 on a GT. They get freaking hot when you turn up the boost. I'd figure about 12 psi max. over than and the iats shoot up to 160+ so the timing pull needed will basically end up making similar power to 12psi. If you are looking for 800 you will need the 2.6-2.8h.
