flashing battery light

i posted about this a couple years ago, but didnt get very far on it. i getting rid of my udp's and going back to my stockers. i got to remembering today about the issues it used to have with stock pulley's. i now have to worry about if the stupid thing is going to start doing it again.

at WOT about 4500 rpm's or so, the battery light would start flashing, it would did this at high rpm's. once i installed my udp's, the issue went away. the alt charges fine, belt is fine, etc. i still using the stock one that came on it, and dont have any plans to change it as of yet.

it was the opposite for me. My underdrive pulleys caused the flashing battery light and like you said everything worked just fine. I eventually took the bulb out of the speedo cluster so i wouldnt have to see it anymore lol

sweet, you know more about cars than i do, but my car did that same exact thing for about a month and my alternator was overchargeing and melted the wire leading from the alternator to the batt.

the high rpm over-charge makes the most sense, when you put the udp's on it slowed it (the alt) down enough not to notice the problem.

it fried my shit, and i didn't notice it until i smelled wires burning (thought it was stereo) and took me 2 hours to find the rubber boot that covers the contact on top of the alternator was melted... needless to say it fried all the way to the batt.

i checked the wiring and no damage. i not sure if its going to do the same thing again or not. i will be turning a lot more rpm's after the build, son i will have to keep an eye on it.

could the light have been triggered by the belt slipping at the higher rpms maybe not charging well just briefly?
