How would you know if you had a leak somewhere? I'm not really familiar with how a vacuum system on a car works ie. when you should have vacuum, when you should have boost, and when it should be neutral.

Dcook when you car it at idle you will have max vacuum, about 19 inhg. With a NA car at full throttle you will be at 0 vac and 0 boost. With boost it depends how much your running but at some point you be neutral before it gets into boost. If at Idle your car only had say 10inhg vac then you have a leak. A leak in the vac system means your sucking in outside air. Theres alot of systems that work off vaccum pressure, depending on where the leak is it may or may not be an issue.

I'm hooking up my wideband, Autometer c2, and it's got a brown wire that's supposed to go to the throttle body and says something about WOT peak recall or something. On the autometer instructions, it shows that brown wire going to a sensor on the throttle body. I only see one sensor looking plug in on the actual TB, there's one towards the front of the car, like on the opposite side of where the throttle cable is. Does it hook in there somewhere? Has anyone wired up something similar that could help me out?

Here's what the manual says about the WOT Peak/Recall value that the brown wire reads:
This value is recorded when the Brown Wire in the instrument harness is connected to a good engine ground via a normally open, momentarily closed wide open throttle switch. Is that type of switch already on our cars, or is that something extra that I'd have to get? |
