Bullitt Valve Cover Help

tryin to figure out the oil cap/spout situation with these bullitt valve covers. my oil cap from my 02 valve covers wont fit,its too wide. plus i dont see any threads on the oil spout the way it is in the pic for an oil fill cap to even screw onto.

am i missing another piece of the spout? The oil spout hole on my 2002 GT valve covers measures 1.5 inches and these bullitt covers measures only 1.25 inches. I'm so confused because ive been told that the oil fill cap is the same from 96-2004 mustangs by a lot of people.

No, there are different ones, some use screw in style caps and others have twist on style. If you dont have any threads Id say you need a twist on style cap.

here took a pic of mine..theres no threads on the spout however there should be a lip in the spout and that is what the threads on the cap run on

Thank you so much for taking that pic. That really helps. My cover looks just like that, except my oil fill cap is totally different from my 2002 GT. Thats why it wont go on. I'll have to see if the Ford dealer can get me one of those oil fill caps.
