rpm drop??

ok so this really is a 2 part question.

1: what mod helps the rpm's drop faster after lets say rev'n up trying to show of that o/r x? it bugs me that it seems forever to drop.

2. are MAC aluminum underdrive pulleys ok? or are they just cheap look alike?

any info, id appreciate.

man i dunno about the rpm drop. i have a 97 gt and i hate that. i also have a 73 stang and it gets a full range in like 2 or 3 sec. thats going up 2 4000 and back down to idle. i have asked the same thing and some people say its because the fuel injection. that even after you let off the throttle it still lets a little gas through. also i have heard that the over head cams will make it do that also. I wish i knew because i hate it too.

a lightweight flywheel like a billet aluminun one will help the motor return to idle faster after revving.

You can easily do it with a tune. the problem is that if its too fast it will not respond quick enough and stall out. If you are trying to make a video or sound clip you could probably plug the intake tube to the IAC. It will stall if you dont modulate the gas, but it will drop much faster.

Also if you do go with under drive Pullies I recommend BBK. I have them and absolutely love them

I have the BBK pullies too and like them... they helped the throttle response out a little and I noticed that the RPM's climbed quicker

bbk's are a piggy back style, i recommend the steeda udp's thats what i got now and love them to death. the iac is what controls how fast the rpms come down. i have a restrictor on mine and it helps out a lot.

It is annoying as hell! Nice to know it can be cured with a tune.

I don't know if it would be a big difference, but it would solve the problem listed in this particular thread....

I bought the restricter too but haven't put it on yet. Was it a huge difference?

Looks like I need to put it on before I get it tuned this Friday, I've heard it affects your tune.

Well, it does cure the hanging revs. If you're getting it tuned I'd put it on first.
