Ordered some cams! Have a few questions
Well i finally ordered some cams for the GT. I went with the HiTech stage 2's and also got a pair of manly nextek springs. These should work very well with my nitrous setup but i have a couple questions.
Am I going to have to upgrade to larger injectors or will my stockers be enough? I was thinking of some 30lb. Im going to upgrade my fuel pump to a single GT supercar pump but im just unsure on the injectors. Im currently running a 100 shot but will most likely up the shot to a 125 or 150. Also what is the normal cost of a cam instalation? Thanks guys

That would not have been my first choice in cams esp. with the 150 shot. the Hi-techs, iirc, favor the intake (more lift and dur.) which with nitrous I would assume you would favor the exh. cms stage 2 n/a cams would have been a better choice imho.
I would put bigger inj in. cam install I heard can be from $800 to $1100 with springs and no tune

Thats what i was thinking. Thanks for confirming the injectors.
Both the hitechs and cms do well with the nitrous. The intake side on our heads is already big and going with the cms would make it even bigger.

![]() Can't wait to hear it when it's all said and done, and see how it does out on the track. I should have a few things done to the Termi by then...I'm used to the power, and need more. Damn you boost...damn you. When do you get back man? |

Yeah, I'm about to beef up the irs a little bit, then a pulley with idler/auxillery pulleys, tune, cat back exhaust, JLT RAI...once I figure out midpipe, and headers I want I'll get them, but I think that will be a good start.
I'll give ya that ride in the Termi when ya get back man. I will want a ride in the GT though with all your goodies your getting.

I was talking to JayC on here about the cms stage 2's for awhile because thats what he is running and he told me he put down 394/497 on his 100 shot. I also talked to Casey on here (Sweet35th) about there cams and a 100 shot and he posted a dynograph HiTech stg2 cams. The car put down 408/530.

I cant see why people still think there are better cams out there than the HiTechs. I dont know, maybe I'm wrong, but for my daily driven to college everyday GT, my car seems to run pretty well with the HiTechs. I just could not imagine a more perfect cam choice for a stock head/bolton GT. The CMS/VTs may do better with a built motor and heads, but shit, the HiTechs are built for cars just like mine, Calebs, and any other GT running around with intake/exhaust.
With that being said, get a Focus pump and be done. Your injectors will be fine for a while. The pump will prolly be an issue. The focus one is a drop in basically. Very easy. Good luck Caleb, I cant wait to see what your baby runs.

+1 for HiTech, one of the best choices I ever made on my car!

" 04 GT full bolt ons, long tubes, Hitech stage 2 cams, and NX with modified jet sizes to get 100rwhp out of the shot." Also my dyno was a SuperFlow not the more "friendly" DynoJet. I'll stick with my CMS but I'm sure the Hi-Techs will be an awesome cam for you too.
