01 cobra IRS shaft strength


will factory rear safts be stout enough for a 01 cobra with all boltons and a KB 9psi kit on some drag radials?...bout to start ordering shit for my car...wanna make sure i get the right hardparts before i start worrying about styling....thanks

and i know the best thing to do is a swap...but im not lookin for that kindda deal yet...it'll get done later....i can buy chromoly shafts for all my offroad rigs, and for my Rhino...im sure there's some out there for cobra IRS...if so, linky?

I believe IRS cobras have 31-spline half shafts, but you may still want to upgrade them with aftermarket 31-spline shafts from liberty or superior, but be sure they're IRS shafts and not shafts for a slod axle rear end.

I think as long as you let aout of the throttle at the first sign of wheel hop you'll be o.k.

And as you already know, a solid axle with some moser or strange axles will be the best thing if your making this a drag car.

yea, i definately know a straight axle is the best way to go...but im not ready to do that kind of a project on this car yet....probly in 2 years or so...i'm a superior dealer, so i'll check with my guy and see about some chromoly halfshafts or something...
