give me a link to get those parts

these are the Ford part #'s for the parts I have before I get started.
F7AZ-7F251-AA, piston
F7AZ-7H292-AB, piston
EOAZ-7F285-A, spring
F8AZ-7G276-BA, ele. connector for solinoids
F6AZ-7A098-A, OEM filter

you will have to order most if not all those parts from your local Ford dealer.
good luck.

sorry I thought you said you were going with a trans-go, which one did you get? as to the price tag, seeing as most people with an opinion have never done one, let me ask you, how can you do the job for $100.00 when the accumulator piston's & spring's you'll need to buy from ford that no-one seem's to know about or mention will cost you 50.00 or so? their not replacing them, that's how. make's you wonder what else their not doing.
its the valve body with the shift kit on it....thats 250 bucks but the install is 100

well your not talking about a shift kit install then, your talking about a valve body swap. you can do that in your driveway in 45 min. a shiftkit is much, much more involved.

give Alan @ DirtyDog Performance (Powered by CubeCart) a call, he will be able to fix you right up if you'd rather go that route (ie. valve body vs. shift-kit).

I'd go a little higher (3500 min) but talk with Alan about your need's, his customer service is second to none, he'll listen to your need's & help you out any way he can with your combo. as a bonus he's also a racer so he know's what work's in the real world, I think you'll be very satisfied.

I dont quite get what youre asking but if youre asking what you need as far as ford/motorcraft/oem parts go he listed them...If your asking about aftermarket instead of oem dont even waste your time. Oem or nothing for those parts, unless its the aftermarket 3-4 accumulator piston that comes with the fairbanks kit which is a totally different ball game. Even if an aftermarket company did make them readily available you wouldnt save but a couple of bucks if that.

If I remember right the pistons are about 14 a piece, the springs cant be more than 10, and the other parts and very high dollar either.

What I am asking is I would like a shift kit for my 05 GT with an auto in it. I have a Roush SC on it & I think it would be beneficial to have it shift a little quicker. Right now it is red linine before it shifts when I'm hammering on it. Thanks for the help ajm.

Oh ok i see what youre saying. A shift kit is always a good investment for an auto. Not only does it allow for quicker shifting it will support some weak features in the valve body.

For example. Some people say no no no dont get a shift kit just buy a tuner and adjust the shift pressure. All the tuner is doing is adjusting the shift pressure. The shift kit will support the weak features such as worn valves etc, make the trans last longer, and give you firmer shifts. Not many people seem to realize this though.

As for what shift kit. Ive tried fairbanks, transgo, and b&m. The b&m is cheap and you get cheap feeling shifts with it. The transgo and fairbanks are pretty similar although I find the fairbanks to be *slightly* better. Reason being is not only does it come with the "shift kit" it comes with a module you can spice into your trans harness to up the shift pressure like a tuner would if the shift kit its self isnt enough. Also I noticed with the fairbanks when crusing around town etc the shifts are still fairly soft/comfortable but fast, but once I get on it they are VERY FIRM and fast. Where as with the transgo and b&m when I would just be cruising around in town, or through a parking lot when id go from 1-2 it would have the same firmness as the fairbanks but it kept that same firmess even at wot which wasnt near what the fairbanks was. If that makes any sense?

Thanks & YES IT MAKES SENSE. I only have 13,660 miles on this car. What can I expect to pay to have it installed?

Do it yourself. Takes nothing but a few qts of fluid, a filter, and an hour max. On the other hand if you really want to have someone do it...which I cant complain...people like that are the reason I make a living lol I donno what itll cost you. A lot of automotive costs have to due with location. One guy from ca may get charged 300, when one guy from me might get charged 100. It just varys shop to shop, location to location, and such.

ford-aode.com has the kit. As for how to install it, it comes with very detailed and straight forward directions.

ehhh yes and no. still once again location dependent.

Two major body shops/production shops and a big mercedes...not your everday little bs independent shops I was at in TX for awhile were charging 80/hr body and ~$20 more on the hour for mechanical such as radiators, suspension, condensors, rear end rebuilds, rear end repacements etc, the mercedes shop/dealership I was at was charging $150/hr mechanical (not even close to comparable at the volvo dealership I spent some time at where I am now)

Im now in TN. Body labor rate is $32-38 an hour and mechanical is about 80-100+ if lucky. 80 being your independent bs, 90-100 being ford,gm, etc, 100+ being your bmw, saab, mercedes, etc.

Just an example. As to how its location dependent. Look up on here how many people as how much itll cost for them to get cams installed. One guy says "his mechanic" (i guess he owns "his mechanic"?) charges $400 when the next guy will say a shop quoted him $1100 and theyll be 5-6 states away from each other.

Shift kits and such stuff are also done on a simple basis such as "ok $100 for your shift kit no matter what car" compared to other things that can be calculated more efficiently on flatrate.
