I would seriously question the abilities of anyone instaling a trans-go shift kit in a 4r70w for $100.00. I've done 30 or so over the years & while not that hard, I wouldn't even talk to someone about putting one in for them for that. $350.00 mabie on the high side though, 250-300 is where I would be.

Shift kits make a big difference in any transmission. Less wear and tear believe it or not. Not a "Cadillac" shift but a "hot rod" shift if you get my drift.

Hell yeah! Especially if you get the top level performance one! They have one where you can only manual shift an auto tranny, its pretty badass... Have it in my dad's 71 torino... runs 12.5s for that heavy ass car.

sorry I thought you said you were going with a trans-go, which one did you get? as to the price tag, seeing as most people with an opinion have never done one, let me ask you, how can you do the job for $100.00 when the accumulator piston's & spring's you'll need to buy from ford that no-one seem's to know about or mention will cost you 50.00 or so? their not replacing them, that's how. make's you wonder what else their not doing.

to do it right, yes. you wouln't know what pistons you have until you take the trans apart & the aluminum ones are junk, you'll need steel one's from Ford & the accumulator spring's that don't get replaced in the kit should be replaced with Ford parts. can you just put the kit in as-is? shure, I just like to do stuff 110% so I don't have to do it again. that & just the amount of work involved is why I said I wouldn't even talk to someone about doing theirs for under 200.
