New to mustangs

Just bought a 2004 40th gt. Black on black. Has black o/r h pipe (not sure of brand) and stainless steel magnaflow axle back. I am looking at swapping in 4.10's and putting on a plenum,tb,cai and tune. First though what is the best rpm to launch from. I am on kumho's and a 5 speed. I launch at around 2800 and I am spinning through third and getting slightly sideways shifting into second. I did stay side by side with a 01 lightning with a smaller pulley. Neither of us could grab any traction though. also what is the best tire for traction and street driving. I was looking at the nitto 555's or goodyear kdw's.

WELL DIFFERENT CARS ARE GOING TO DO STUFF A LITTLE DIFFERENT. YOU JUST NEED TO FIND WHERE THE SWEET SPOT ON YOUR CAR. just have to play with it. if your spinning in 3rd, those are some shitty tires. i have nitto 555and cant get them to spin in 3rd

General Exclaim UHPs for me. Very good tire for the money. If price isn't really a concern go with one of the two you mentioned above.

i love the nitto's, i was experimenting with tires and the nitto's were by far the best i ran. the bfg's were good also but not as good as the nitto's. (imo) i had the kumho 711 witch were shit and the 712's not much better.

Sorry I did mean 1rst and not 3rd. I guess I will just price the difference and see which I should get based on that.

Also another question. Are the 05 to 07 gt's faster than the 04. And if they are why? Are there motor differences or is it a transmission ratio thing? Just curious.

Yes they are faster.. They still use the 4.6 but it puts out 300 HP as opposed to the 265 the 99-04's do... It also has 3 valves per cylinder which probally has to do with the HP difference..

They are not as much faster as it sounds. The '05+ models are much heavier. A few basic bolt on mods and you can catch it no problem.

I forgot about the 3 valves per cylinder. I am thinking the goodyears or the nitto 555r but am wondering about mileage

Nittos are good gripping tires, but they ware down quicker because they are made of softer rubber made to grip the road.
