i was wondering if it is possible to use my tuner to change my speedo reading. like for instance make the speedo read lower than what the car is actually going? i know you can use it to make the speedo correct after installing gears but is it possible to use it to change it to where the speedo reads lower?

all you'd do is do a lower (numerically) set of gears. if you were running 4.10's and you wanted it to read lower miles you'd put in a set of 3.27's or something. of course that's gonna mess up your mph and everything.
besides that, what you're wanting to do seems kinda shady.

what i meant to convey is you'd put the tune in for a lower set of gears.

+1 if you set it like it has a lower set of gear ratio... it'd make the speedo read off of those, and making it how you want it. May i ask y you want this?

well im actually just doing it kinda just for the fun of it slash experiment. cause i was talking to a friend of mine and was asking him and he said he wasnt for sure, so i figured id ask and see what everyone had to say about it to see if it could actually be done.

It can be done by way of the explanation above, but why would you want to do that other than maybe fight a traffic ticket?

Yeah it's easy to do. Just do what mustanginky said. Why would you want to do it? It's not like if you're going to get out of a ticket if you get stopped for speeding and tell the cop that you thought you were only going 60 because that's what your speedo said.
The only other reason would be to fool your odometer and not have it register as many miles as it should, and that is def. shady |
