Broke 7's in the 1/8th mile

Well after months and hundreds of dollars spent on parts and tuning i was able to break into the 7's last night at the local drag strip in san diego... i just had my k member and coil over set put in last week and that alone saved me 62 lbs, i also took out my passenger seat to reduce the weight more and it was very effective...

i made about 6-7 runs yesterday, they started racing around 3 and it was hotter the hell so i wasn't making alot of runs during the afternoon...
r/t .168
60' 1.697
330' 5.116 at 63.9 mph ---- best run this run was made about 7 pm
1/8 mile 7.966 at 88.1 mph

r/t .376
60' 1.732
330' 5.160 at 63.244 ---- 2nd best run
1/8 mile 7.986 at 88.753

i had a pair of 8.0's and some 8.1's in the mix as well, i almost beat a turbo'd s 197 that was hella fast but i treed him and had him in the 60', for some odd reason he pulled on me and then i started to catch up some how, by the time we crossed we were dead nuts even, he had a 7.99 and i had a 8.08... by far the funnest run of the night...

what other mods can i do to get the car deeper in the sevens with out touching the blower or tune...?

congrats man. Would you happen to know what your DA was, I ask b/c I'd think (by looking at your garage) that your car would have a couple more tenths in it still. I'm seeing a ~7.7 in there.

Lightweight wheels and cooler temps will help bring your ETs down

the alt. at barona is about 2000' so i would say it could get a 7.8 or so, but i did at one point have a trap speed of 88.9 mph and always cut 86 mph so that shows the car another tenth in her...

looking at the pics in your garage, your drivers side looks nice but your passenger rear looks to be screaming for an airbag or stiffer spring. What is your pinion angle set at?

You wouldn't happen to have a video of how the car is leaving would you?

you beating the turbo s197 would have been funny. I ran a s197 with a Roush Supercharger, I kicked his ass which was really funny since I was N/A

I didn't realize you had adjustable shocks, you may want to stiffen up the RR a little. I'm unlike most people and believe you don't want the car to squat b/c you'll be wasting energy.

i agree, i have been running the car loose but i tighten it a bit last night, i ran my first run with my shocks stiff and spun like crazy and loosen up and was doing better the whole night, asked my friend if i was squatting and he said it wasn't as bad as usual, so it seem to work good but im gonna set stiffer next time and go from there...

Yeah if you can get the front to rise and fall slowly and if the rear is squating hard and your not moving then its wasted energy. Stiffen the rear and slow the rise/fall in the front.

I'm still on the stock driveshaft, no issues here. I was going to buy one but they've went up in price over the last few years.
