screen befor MAF meter

when I installed my CAI there was really no provision to hold the round screen in place that sat just before the MAF. So I left it off.
For some reason I started thinking about that last night.
Should I put it back on somehow? it seems the filter should stop anything way smaller than the screen woul have but it was probably there for a reason

the screen is not a filter its to smooth out the air flow going into the meter

I took mine off 8 years ago and never looked back...

blown2v is correct, it does have a purpose. It can be debated both ways if you should keep it or not.

i haven't had mine on for 5 years now.

the instructions for my CAI actually said to leave it off.
