afco coil overs

so i bought the ones regulator had (thanks dave!!) and they're #155 spring rate for fronts. my buddies and dave all stated that the front springs would be a little spongy but that isn't a bad thing considering i'd like to go with a more drag oriented setup.

so, can i use stock struts with these? which struts should i look at getting if so? is it required to run caster camber plates with them or okay with the stockers (my car gets driven minimally, like 3-4k a year).

any suggestions? thanks!

im not an expert on suspension or anything but i think whenever you go with coilovers you need to replace your shocks/struts unless you enjoy a bumpy ride

i'd take the opportunity to upgrade the shocks personally. and caster camber plates would be advisable to use. infact, most coilover kits require them. all of those things are good to knock out at one time since you have to remove them all to install the coilovers.

a little bit of a rant...

makes no sense to me why people will spend gobs of money to upgrade engines, add boost, and what not, but yet want to skimp on suspension. i know this may not be your case, but its just a common thing i seem to see on stang sites lately. /rant

i'm not trying to skimp on this one lol. i'm going to buy all that stuff here shortly (cc plates, different struts, etc...) i'm just wondering if i can bolt them on without any of that crap as for right now.

i would upgrade your struts, with my mmr front coilovers i have my car pretty slammed and its on gabriel ultra struts, pretty much just a oem replacement, and it rides great BUT there isnt much travel on the strut left do to the car being so low, so when i hit a medium bump i can hear the strut bottoming out (its a terrible noise). i would suggest like AGX's since they are adjustable, and i would highly suggest some CC plates.

4 bolt CC plates imho are manditory when using coilovers. The weight of the whole front of the car is supported on them when using coilovers and the stock plates were not designed for this.

A decent set that is able to support the amount you lower it. Illumina's, HP Blues, Tokico D-spec or Bilsteins are your best bets.
