HID help please?

Hey guys, got my HID kit earlier today, my aftermarket headlights take H1 bulbs so that's the kit I ordered... though I'm beyond confused on how everything goes together. Do I just cut apart the rubber grommet that went over the bulb and throw it away? Where do I insert the metal tabs coming out of the HIDs into? I've attached pics to illustrate... thanks for your help!

the grey socket should connect to the original headlight connector, and those black and red wires are you power and ground.

not to sure about the blue one

9007 is the stock headlight kit, my projectors take H1...

So would the best route to go be just to connect the socket to the OEM plug from the car and just take wire taps and tap the power and ground wires?

I'm going to venture a guess that they're single xenon bulbs (no high and low beams)?

The gray connector connects to you stock wiring. This plug is common ground. Basically, the middle prong is the ground prong. The side prongs are the power wire for the high and low beams (one side is for low beams and the other side is for high beams).

The original connector to H1 bulb is the other power wire for the high beams. Basically, for standard H1 halogen bulbs the black would be connected in the middle. The red and blue wires would be connected on the outside.

You need to connect the red and black wires (from the last picture) to the wire on the middle prong (black wire here) and the red wire to the side prong for the low beams.

That kit looks like a pita. My kit was all plug and play, all they way to the relay. Good luck.

Well I just bought a different kit from HID guy. Lifetime warranty so hopefully this one won't be bad like VVME's ()

Beat's me

I'm sending it to Weems and he's going to see if he can get it to work (to double check to make sure I didn't hook anything up wrong). I went over it 3 times. Everything is hooked up correctly. I'm getting power through the VVME blue connector from my stock harness. Then it dies at the relay. I'm thinking I've got a bad relay.

They won't. They said they would require me to send them back the whole harness and they'll refund my money / test to see what parts need fixed. Then they'd send me out whatever needs to be replaced. But it would cost me almost $100 for me to ship it back to them. Ef that.

I already bought a slim ballast kit from HIDguy.net today.

That sucks bro, yea my kit was crazy simple once I figured out that red=power and black=ground haha. 1st one took 3 hours, second one took 15 minutes including me making a sandwich

I've heard both good and bad things about vvme so I ordered from a US based company with a 3 year warranty. Everything works but the spread from my beam is really whack, I get this giant glob of black right in the middle near the driver's side. I think my projectors weren't really made for HIDs

Hopefully I can adjust the lamps to the point where there isn't such a weird scatter anymore, I'll post pics once it's done.

Hopefully Weems can see if it's working (to make sure I'm not a retard). If he gets it working then I'll just resell it no biggy. If it's actually broken; well...that'll suck ass. But I have a new one on the way w/ a lifetime warranty so that'll be good.
