Computer chip questions...
I'm not made of money, but I am looking for a decent performance computer chip that will run good with what i have. What do you guys recommend and what kind of results did you see?? I have 4:10 gears, AEM Brute Force cold air, H-pipe flowmaster exhaust, but I plan on adding alot more to the car, so I need something that will go the distance.

I would probably buy an SCT X-Calibrator II. Have a tune built for the combination of parts you have now. In the future if you make additional changes, you can re-use the same hand held, and reprogram it for your latest setup. About a $100.00 less, would be a multiprogram chip. Before the X-CAL II there was the X-CAL I. The basic difference between the two is the upload and download times to reflash the cars computer. The I (one), took about 20 minutes, where the II does the same task in 30 seconds. If you buy a used one, lets say on ebay, you can never be sure that it was flashed back to stock. If it isn't, the tuner is VIN locked to a particular vehicle, and it would be useless to you.
I might have a couple of X-Cal I's laying around. Just send me a PM if you are interestedin one . |
