yeah the cable is already on the fork and on the quadrant. and when i pull the clutch up, i dont really hear a rachet, and when i get under the pedal and look, pull the pedal up with one hand and the quadrant doesnt even adjust, it pretty much stays the same.

So it is as tight as pictured with the quadrant at full release (all the way at the top of the ratcheting)? Are you sure the routing of the cable is right dude? It WILL work correctly if it's all correct man. The main reason people get rid of the stock quadrant is for adjusting a much heavier clutch than stock.

I had a similar problem when I did my clutch. I put the car in 1st (not running) then pulled up on the clutch pedal. That seemed to pop everything into place and has been working just fine since. Maybe give that a try if you havent yet

yeah i just tried putting it in first and pulling back on the pedal to adjust and still no luck. its funny because when the cable has a lot of tension like when i have someone push the fork in with a breaker bar and then i tighten the slack at the pedal, the clutch disengages a little bit more... but still not enough to get into gear. but that still isnt right with all that tension even it it was going into gear. wtf.

Did you try to slide the cable in and out before you installed it? Wondering if the guy sold you a faulty one, or the wrong year cable.

naw the cable is good i tested it and took it out of the car. the routing is correct for sure, used the haynes manual. i just dont know if the clutch disk is installed backwards. im tryin to get one of those dentist mirrors and look up into the trans through the clutchfork hole thinger and maybe i can see if its in backwards.

EDIT: i was searchin around on google and i found this.
i got my car all back together and running and everything from the 5spd swap but i ran into a problem.last night when i went to move it,i pushed the clutch in and the car jumped forward.so i adjusted the cable more.i have a steeda cable, bbk quadrant and no firewall adj.get in,same thing not as bad.readjust again.this time it goes in gear hard and the car still wants to move forward with the clutch all the way to the floor.so pretty much its like the clutch isnt fully disengaging and i have pretty much every ounce of adjustment possible on the cable.i cant get anymore and the cable has a lot of tension on it.what could be causing this.you can't drive the car without rev matching or it will not go into gear and its deff not the trans.
solution to his problem:
yeah i checked adjustment a million times the other night.i pulled it all back out.problem was the pressure plate i had(spec) wasnt working with my motorsport disc,so i put the regular pressure plate back in and it works now.
