How to stagger my stang
I'm going to buy some new wheels tonight. I can't decide between
17x8 & 17x10.5 or 17x8 or 9 & 18x10 I wanted to know which would give the best handling if it even makes much of a difference and I also wanted to know if anyone had any pictures of the 18x10 with 17's in the front on a mustang or any similar car. I used the search and found one small picture. Any help would be great

idk if your going for visuals or performance with your GT but 17's will be for performance and 18's mainly are for visual being as they are heavier. I have 17x9 in back and 17x8 up front and I really like the set up. Go with the 17x10.5's IMO

17x10.5 setup...my $0.02.
Staggered setup looks more appealing on a Camaro or Corvette, IMO. |

The issue with going 8" up front and 10.5 out back, is increased understeer
![]() You are looking at a 245/315 set of tires for a good fit and will help to initiate plowing in the corners. I recommend you NOT go that much differential and stick with 9"s with a 265 up front to help tame the beast a bit better. Jazzer

i think our cars lowered on 17's look awesome im not big on 18's, I threw some 18 fr 500's on mine to get out of a ticket (lol it worked) and it handled like piss, not to mention i know you dont want them in the front but if i turned the wheel all the way it grinded. Ive only seen a hand full on 18's ive actually liked. But it is driver up to what the driver likes!

they threw the speedo way the heck off that was back in the day. 18's are bigger less rotation per mph = lower speedo reeding lol. i have 2001 cobra 17's on it tho. Just barrowed my friends 18's.

Definitely go 17x9 and 17x10.5. Like jazzer said, a 245 up front instead of a 265/275 will yield LOTS of understeer probs. If you have a little bit of negative camber on the front, the tires will sit flush with the fenders, looks badass IMO.

![]() To the OP, IMO, 18s fit these cars much better than 17s, and look really good when its lowered. I have two mustangs BOTH with 18s and neither one of them rub when turning, so the above statement is definitely not true. |
