MGW shifter ?


I just got done installing and trying out the shifter but each time I shift the shifter goes back to the neutral postion but stays in the gear I put it in say I shift to third it stays on third gear but the shifter goes bak to the nuetral postion unlike the stock shifter which stays on watever gear u put it in is this normal or did I do something wrong?

Check your other thread...

It's more than likely the black plastic piece that covers the ball on the end of the shifter (the part that goes down into the tranny) needs to come off the old shifter and put it on the ball end of the new shifter. It will pop off with a flat head screwdriver. Be careful not to break it.

Ya what he said..and the only other thing I can think of is that you didn't put the end into the cup but then I don't think it even would work

If you have a lot of play then more than likely you didn't swap over that piece.
