lifters
if i changed all my lifters/ lash adjusters do they have to be adjusted or are they alright by just putting them in

You don't have lifters... Its an overhead cam engine, not a pushrod engine.

Just lube them up with some oil or similar, drop them in and go. It prolly wouldnt hurt to run it for a bit at idle though, let it sit for a bit, then fire it up again. Sometimes theyll have air in them that needs to be bled out and that usually does the trick w/o having to fool with any "pre build" steps.

i soaked my lash adjusters in oil before i put them in, but just use some builders grease and lube them up really well and throw them in

im having a loud taping sound coming from the passenger bank of my 03 gt the has only 58,000 miles... noise started right after an oil change any idea what it may be?

man this thread wandered off fast!
tapping after oil change may be caused by not gettin enough oil back in or maybe some crud blocking an oil passage
