n00b question on BBK 78mm throttle body/plenum
Hey guys, I have a n/a stang that's about to get on the bottle, I'm found a BBK 78mm throttle body/plenum combo for a good price, is this a bad idea in any way to run such a huge throttle body in an N/A car? And are BBK intake products any good?
Input greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I personally think it'd be too big unless you're running alot of boost or have some crazy n/a setup.

talked to a guy at hitechmotorsports about the difference in a 70mm to a 75mm he said there is no point to buy the 70mm when they offer a 75mm he said it wont hurt you one bit to get a larger one so i would say the same for the 78mm

i would think its too large unless your boosted id do 70 mm but i dont know you might have a wild n/a set up with cams and performance heads and full exhaust so i dont know but if you are just running almost every bolt on like myself id put a smaller one if your like me

sig says you're going boosted in the future. you really think 3 mm over a 75 is gonna hurt you? i'd just go ahead and get that one, especially if you're gonna go blown soon.

you might also want to invest in a tuner so you dont run your car too lean

I have a tuner already, though I'm not planning on going FI until I graduate from college, which will be in another 2 years. I'm just wondering if I'll actually lose power or have an adverse effect on my car in any way if I go that big...

i would think if you have pretty much full bolt ons you should be fine as long as you tune it... i cant imagine the air being too thin down in FL for you to have to worry... is it your dd?

Yeah it's my daily, for another 2 years anyway, then I'll probably get an 3 series or something to drive every day while the mustang has its engine in 200 different pieces most of the time lol
I'm thinking with the responses I'm getting though that a 78mm is definitely too large for now... I've heard that aftermarket throttle body/plenums don't add any more than a few horsepower anyway? Thanks for the responses!

70mm- more low end torque/less high end hp, 75mm- less low end torque/more top end hp
these differences are minimal though
