I have heard of people having some problems with doing a big bore with our block, b/c you have to sleeve it and there is problems with that. MMr would not do a big bore uless you buy there block, which i think is the boss 302 block. But there are a few around that claim they havent had any problems doing a big bore with a stock block so I guess its up to chance.

my $.02 is stroke it for extra torque down low, with 11.1 cp, and some stage 2 or 3 heads and cams and rock it out. with the cp raised you will have to dutune it for pump gas but will fine, but you can put a race gas tune in and raise the timing, probably for another 50 hp for when you want to go to the track or bust some ace on the street, good luck bro

there have been issues with a few people of sealing on a wet sleeve. and there have been a few that have had sleeve fastening issues with a dry sleeve. it depends on who does it (experience), how much power you have, the way the block is prepped, etc.

You can get the FRP Big bore and have no issues. The dry sleeved blocks are not good for a lot of boost due to the thinner walls. The wet sleeved blocks are good for lots of boost providing they are installed right. I have about 300 miles on mine right now driving it like I stole it with no issues. The power feels as good at 10psi as it did at 16psi and makes more torque than it did at 16psi.

They also make a aluminum block, but it is like $3700.
Ford 5.0 DOHC Aluminum Big Bore Block
Here is a good read. The iron big bore is around $1700.
