Which route for power?

What would be better performance and reliability-wise? I either want just a 125 shot of nitrous or a 100 shot and some HP stage 2 nitrous cams. I could care less about idle sound with cams, i am just looking for the most reliable route to power out of these options.

100 with cams. Would give you a better baseline power to spray on i think. More all around fun.

what are your long term goals? where do you see your car in 5 years? 10?

regardless, if you decide to spray be sure to take all the precautions with it. Get a window switch, WOT, a tune, etc. it wont hurt to get a bottle warmer either. Plus with the warmer your getting a more reliable pressure for each shot with more consistent results. warmers are a great buy!

When looking at cams you might wanna consider what your doing in the long run. if you plan to do top end work(heads, porting, intake, etc) or going FI you may want to hold off and get the cams after you do major upgrades and then buy cams that can take advantage of everything. As far as the set of cams go i always like the idea of a custom grind designed specifically for your car and mods.

i agree with above. spray and cams would be your best bet if you have the money. i have jlt, exhaust, gears and a 125 shot and im trapping 115 in the 1/4. my tune is safe, 10.5 a/f, and the car rips on the bottle. it gets addicting tho. only thing i would recommend is changing your gears tho. 4.30s is steep for nitrous. with my 4.10s, im hitting rev limiter at the top of 4th with 26" tires ..

4.30 can be done, but your gonna wanna look into slicks for the track. otherwise, prepare to spin 'em

Depends on what you wanna do. If it were me id do

xxx nitrous

or

xxx nitrous + cams + valve springs

Basicaly if you do cams, do the springs too; for example what good is cam that will make power to 6200 but springs that crap out at 5500?

The whole gears thing at the track casper will be able to help you out with.

My dyno sheet shows this exactly!!! Do springs!!! at 5900-6300 rpms my dyno sheet looks like ~~~~~~~. My centrifugal blower and blower cams make power up top yet im stuck with stock springs. Bad decision on my part and shitty recommendation by a shitty shop with a shitty tuner thats just an overall shitty place (HOUSTON PERFORMANCE).

im not saying 430s cant be done. all im saying is im crossing the traps on rev limiter. i hit 6300 maybe 15 ft or less from the end on 26" tires. He could probally get away with 28" tires but id def consider 3.73s or atleast 4.10s.

not on an auto with a 125 shot (unless you can spin to 10K ). we only have 3 gears & the spread doesn't work.
