Re: tornado,turbonator,vortec cyclone..."supercharge yo

They are all BS, they were proved to all be BS in a mustang mag i read, think about it introducing anything into the air chamber of your car would add resistance. Forget about swirling anything, last i checked it took my man made logs longer to make laps around the bowl than to get sucked straight down.

Are you guys kidding? I have two and it added like 50 RWHP! No bull Sh*t! I'm getting a third one this weekend! I now get like 30 mpg. You guys are all stupid!

The local news does a scam busters segment and they had one installed at a community college auto shop. The car lost HP and gas mileage due to the added restriction.

Agree with everything said... but I would like to pose a question...

Superchargers are powered by a belt coming off the engine, spinning a turbine to push air into the car. So, why couldn't one theoretically get an electric motor to do the same thing, and have it run off the cars power?

^seems like it would need ALOT of power, and i think it would need to spin faster as the RPMs rise

So one would think that you could run an electric fan off of your car's DC power and have it spin faster or slower as per the RPM's of the engine.

seems to me the current required to turn that would drain the battery in a second... I mean, that would have to be a serious turbine...
