i would try plug first, 3 bucks is better than whatever a coil is.

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) p0305
DTC Definition: Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected

this could be both or one or the other. you can switch the COP with another cylinders COP and see if the code switches cylinders. If it don't it could be the plug.

I had the exact same problem in mine. I ended having to change out the 5 and 6 cop's. Try changing that plug first... its cheaper. If you are going to swap out the cop with one from a different cylinder, I'd recommend you use one from the 1-4 bank of the engine. Also, if you have to replace a cop, an you can afford the few extra bucks, go with the OEM from the dealership. Its worth it to use a factory cop.

Use a little critical thinking.

Check the coil with a dvom. If readings are horribly off chances are its shot. If not go to next step.

Swap plug, coil, and injector from #5 with plug, coil, injector from xxx cylinder.

If the code comes back on the cylinder you switched to change the plug.

It the code comes back again to xxx cylinder you changed to check the coil and injector once again. Chances are it would be the coil as the mechanical failure rate of injectors is extremely low. That should solve your problem.

If the miss still comes back on cylinder 5 after swapping coil & plugs with another cylinder chances are the problem is beyond something simple as a plug, coil, or injector.
