RWHP on a mustang dyno???

ok this is for all you stang dudes that play with dyno numbers. I hear that a bone stock 99-04 GT makes around 225-230 rwhp.? I also hear that a mustang dyno is more acurate and usually shows less rwhp than a dyno jet.?
I am writing this because im a bit dissapointed in my last dyno run because i have UDP, slp exhuast, no cats, JLT CIA, 75mm TB with matching plenum, diablo tuner, frpp 4:10's, focus svt pump, 180 stat...ect ect. I ran it on a mustang dyno last week and it only put down 228 rwhp and 256 rwtq...
To my disgust i was a little displeased. Now on that same note i had it dynoed before my cats were removed and before i tuned it with my diablo tuner and before the gears " i know they dont ad hp" but the it was on a dyno jet and it put down 238 rwhp and 275 rwtq...??? so whats up with that? I guees its true about the mustang dyno being more accurate and the dyno jet shows more hp??? these cars piss me off N/A. they make crap power. Im just pissed because i just bought a vortech V2 SQ kit and im gonna install it this week and go back to the dyno and if it only puts down around 300 rwhp im not going to be happy... what are yalls opinions?

it should be more than 300. do you have larger inj. or larger maf or anything that will support alot more horsepower.

you gotta watch that dyno game too. THey will all show up something different for many different reasons. Its best to stick with one dyno to show your progress. Ill say this... in the middle of the day. My car feels like slow shit! but at night when its cool, its a whole different car. My car put down the numbers below in a shop that was 108 degrees with 100% humidity. But im going to go back when it cools off and see how much more i gain.

yeah thats true about the same dyno, im with you. its just that i got screwed by the first shop with the dyno jet and refuse to go back, now i found a strictly mustang speaclist shop but the have a mustang dyno and told me they read different from dyno jet, more accurate. also those low numbers i put down coulda been due to the fact it was 96 degrees out with 100% humidity.... go figure? but yeah i have bigger frpp injectors, no maf yet and no aftercooler....lame, so we shall see. hopefully not to much heat soak

yeah bro... the heat definitely doesnt help. I hate driving my car when its hot. Hot air plus compressing it??? <= that equals HOT! LOL. The blower will make your car up bro. Promise.

yeah im hoping for the best, i think i'd be ok with around 330rwhp. i plan on adding bigger maf and hopefully and intercooler maybe fab a procharger air to air up or something, i dont know how i feel about the vortech aftercooler.
im pumped and cant wait to get this damn thing installed, but im worried about the tuning because it came with 3 chips and 1 is a sct chip , the other two are vortech but they werent specific for my car so im not sure if one of them will work until i can get it dyno tuned by diablo or sct, or maybe a burned chip from vortech? the sct chip came outta the same year stang and mild bolt ons like mine so maybe it will be compatible but im really dont wanna take chances in destroying my motor.

Yeah once you get up to those power levels and have a blower you will DEFINITELY want a dyno tune. You'll get the most power and the safest power as it will be custom for YOUR SPECIFIC car.

mustang dynos are more accurate and they do show about 60hp less than dyno jet but i prefer mustang dynos myself. i put down 336/360 in 100degree temp with slp lm2. since i've added tuner and intake havent been back yet tho. i expect at least 375/415

How was the AFR on that car, and where was the timing. You should have made more at both dynos. Unless your motor is just plain tired.

you should see at least 400 rwhp and torque with a 3.33 pulley!

I've had my car on both. The pulls were months apart but the results were basically the same. If I remember correctly they were Mustang dyno: 385 rwhp/370 rwtq. Dynojet: 385 rwhp/367 rwtq. I didn't see any 60 rwhp difference.

Note: My new tune was to get the A/Fmix a little better and it lowered my peak hp a bit but gave me more mid-range.

I'm just going by what I dynoed on a mustang dyno to that of someone with the same mods pulled on a dyno jet. I dynoed 336.1 he dynoed 444, and we have the same mods. But the place I dyno at also told me dyno jet shows 60 more rwhp. Wheather or not its true I don't know.

mustang dyno isnt more accurate due to you can have a loaded dyno jet also... and you really cant go by saying mustang dynos will be 60hp of because it all depends on how they load their mustang dyno people...you can get on 1 mustang dyno 1 day and put down 400 and go next door to another 1 and put down 420 or under 400... its all about how they load the dyno... numbers are just numbers... can make a dyno say anything..

my buddies 03 GT with only 14K miles on it made 231 & 266 on a dyno jet with nothing but SLP cat back.

But like stated above heat will kill it. as far as the difference between dyno jet and mustang dyno's i've heard the same about the difference in numbers..but i've also heard mustang dyno's aren't consistant. just my 2 cents..

BTW what part of VA are you from??

dynos are all over the place...you have to know what kind of number there giving you if it was corrected or uncorrected...alot of people say what their cars made uncorrected because the number is always higher...and that can account for 20-60hp sometimes...and 1 person did also mention that you need to know if it is a load bearing dyno or not...don't get discouraged...never got to the dyno expecting a number...the main point of a dyno is to tune..if at all possible find a respectable tuner and one that you personally like and stay with him throughout your build that way he will be familiar with the car...GOOD LUCK MAN!
