what spark plug????
Ok last time I replaced my stockers with the autolite double platinums and they were hard to find...where now its even harder and it seems the replacement for my app764 is a app104 and it has a longer thread depth...what's up with that? I was thinking bout getting some iridiums....or actually..I want the e3 spark plugs...with diamond fire technology...my real question is...am I going to be coming in contact with my piston with these longer spark plugs? Or what plugs can I run?

theres a sticky with all of the spark plugs and part numbers take a look at it. everyone will say something different. me its ngk. the e3s are like the old splitfires, not what you want to use with cast pistons. heard stories about burning holes in pistons.

i had NGK's a while back but after some BS misfires i went to autolites. At the same time tho, i switched all my coils. I think the coils were the problem rather than the plugs but i did it all at the same time. Ive heard of lots of people having a perfect history with the NGK's so...

Wow...you serious? Then why do they sell them if they put holes in the piston..and how in hell do they do that? Well what about the autolite iridium if I can find the right ones...they all seem to have more threads than my 764's.... The irdium any good?

Mustangmabry, can you tell a difference in anything with the zex? Better mpg? Performance? I know any difference wouldn't be a very big one if anything just wandering...

A lil bit of a difference. It seemed to run smoother and if i remember correctly it picked my car up 0.02 seconds at the track.

I believe they are, they looked identical to the motorcraft ones i removed from the car. Hope this helps. No exactly sure the thread count, i'll have to pull one out and do a thread count.

Can I ask why you would want to spend $42 on plugs? For less than $10 you can get regular Autolite Copper 764's? Not doggin ya, just wondering what your reasoning is.

Well...when it comes to maintnence I try to get the best...and well if they can get me better mpg and maybe a tad increase in power...ill tryem...and I've heard not to run non platinums in these...and the stockers were double platinum...

Hmm. Everything I have read shows copper giving better performance then platinum. Platinum is a better performing plug. When you hear better performing though it is usually in the context of longer life, not really higher hp.
