Oh, and back on topic for the rest of everyone else here. I decided to try to give the paint a try. I bought VHT Flameproof in Matte Black along with their white primer. I will not be able to do anything until possibly Sept 11 weekend though.

Weems, if you want to try the paint, come on up. If you want to wait and see if mine holds up, we can do yours later.

not to thread jack, but i also dislike chrome... however i love black chrome. is there any type of spray that would do that to pony, badges, maybe bumper inserts? i sware i remember someone spraying VH niteshades on their pony and it made it look really nice...

True blue, I have seen the same thing with black chrome being duplicated with nightshades. I have done it myseld in the past with clear a drop of black added to it and an airbrush. worked great. Thanks for the compliment.

Weems, I will be spending labor day weekend with my girl on the beach in Naples Florida. That is why I have to wait until the following week.

Give it a try. I tell you what. If you can give me a few days, I will strip the flat black paint from my pony emblem that is riveted to my toolbox. I will then test the nightshades for you, I have a can already, and post some pics. That way you do not ruin yours. Just remind me with a PM on Monday.

Its just a house oven, one of those glass top ones, got it in the penny saver with a cracked top for 40 bucks like new and it works perfect and does the job, If anyone wants there tips matte black I can do it for 50 bucks plus 6.00 shipping

I might try to complete the project this coming week after work each night. I will yank the exhaust, clean it and paint it Tuesday. Install and cure it wednesday. I have to ride out to FL on Thursday though, so I am debating if I want to get involved with it or not.
