Order mix up leads to me having to decide
Ok ...I screwed up in ordering and now I have MMR 12"-250lb Rear Coilover
with 3 way adj Drag Shocks from Comp Engineering and Maxium Motorsports Rear Height Adj Lower Control arms. I was planning on going coilovers in the rear but couldn't pass on these MM LCA's. My current set up is M/T 315 10.5 DR's, 3.73's, Eibachs Sport lines, UPR Upper and Lower non-adjustable control arms installed already. 31 Spline Superior axles and Frpp 31 spline differental are about to be installed. I am trying to figure out if its going to be worth doing the MMR coilover kit with the UPR LCA control arms or go with the MM LCA's....and still use the C/E Drag shocks from the coilover kit. Maybe go with a rear drag spring an get rid of the Eibachs. Any advice or experience is welcomed! |

I have been leaning towards the MM height adj LCA's with the C/E 3 way drag shocks. Maybe using the Eibachs that are already there or find better rear springs.

I would keep the coilovers. From the susp gurus I gave talked all have said the best thing you can do for a mustangs rear susp is get the spring off of lca

ok, so springs on the LCA's are a no go and hurting the performance. Did they give a reason? This is something I would like to know as well.
Thanks |

you arent going to like the shocks, you will have to remove them to adjust them

Ya that I know, I'm going to keep them at 50/50. I dont drive the Mustang much only on nice days, when I have time and to the drag strip.

Been looking for an answer the past few days and still up in the air.
Looks like to me that its based on these differences between the two: Coilovers - are for handling and body roll but you can choose your spring rate which is real good LCA's w/springs - Seems most people at the strips (from what I see in most peoples set ups) use the LCA's and have real good transfer of power to the ground am I correct in saying this? |

If I go with the LCA's and spring I would be looking into getting some fox body springs for a convertible....I have a convertible

This is what i run, but 4 cyl springs. I hook great. I will be fabricating my own coil over set up some time in the near future. You have more adjustments with a coil over set up.

I have this posted on a few other sites and only a handful of people have replied.
Seems there are no pros and cons, which is better, and it all comes down to the springs and what you prefer. I guess for weight savings, body roll, and road course people go with the coilovers? Why is it that the springs should be off the LCA's? |

Just going to run the coilovers...getting mix reviews on and no one really is explaining why this or why that...no big deal I guess. Figure spring rates would be easier to change and like SMS mentioned before so would the adjustments. Anyone want to buy some New MM Ex Duty hgt adt LCA's?
