fuel delivery issue
so I am in the NAVY and my stang has been at my brothers for the last 4 years because I couldnt ship it to hawaii. I drove it about 6 times in that time. Well, over the last year since I drove it, it wont start. My brother got it started a couple times but has to hold down the gas to keep the fuel to the engine or it would die. I just changed the filter yesterday to rule that out and it didnt work. I did notice that when I bled the fuel presure at the sharder valve on the rail I got the usual amount of fuel out. After I intaled the new filter (yes it is on the right way) and turned the ignition to prime the pump, there was no fuel at the shrader valve. If I am getting no fuel at the rail it should be a weak or bad pump right? The pump sounds fine with the ignition on but for some reason verry low presure at the rail?

mod motors use a variable speed fuel pump that adjusts fuel pressure constantly based on the engine's needs, it's possible that it may not prime like other fuel system, it may only spin the pump when the engine is cranking
also, how long has the gas been sitting in it? gas can get pretty nasty pretty fast

it had less than a 1/4 for a while and my uncle put a half tank in about 6 months ago the last time it was running fine

Possibly gunked up fuel lines....and when he put the gas in it broke it up...and lodged in it the fuel lines...or that fresh filter you just put in...have you tryed cranking it? Then checking the schrader valve

Disconnect the filter and try turning it over, if you get fuel shooting out, follow the line and see if its kinked or something, if not, drop the tank and take a look. about a month back my car wouldn't start due to fuel issues. Seems the hose blew off of my pump, and the filter was just clogged completely somehow. Luckily its not that hard getting into the tank.

Yea that was gonna be my next suggestion although I'm not sure what the inside of our tanks look like...I know older chevys hvae that lil rubber hose from the pump to the sending unit that can blow off or rot away...so check that

I am going to drop an clean the tank anyways but for now I just need to move it from my brothers to my new place. This is the first problem I have ever had with my car, troubleshooting blows

luckily, our tank is pretty easy to work with, just get two jacks, makes it easier. Maybe pull the pump and whatnot out and see if the little filter before the pump is clogged up.

can I drain the fuel tank by disconecting the fuel filter and running the pump? I realy dont feel like syphoning it

Running the pump until its dry really isnt that healthy for it so to speak. If it were me id just drop the tank, remove the "hat" and flip the tank over in some dirt to dump all the gas out, put the tank back in, fill it up with a few gallons to get to the gas station then fill it back up. Shouldnt take you but 15-20min to do.

a quick thing to try is to disconnect the fuel pressure sensor on the drivers side fuel rail and then try and start it..

Sounds like the lines are full of crud. Have you pulled the fuel line off where it connects at the rails? If you look on this thread that I started last year, you'll see what I dealt with! What a mess! Fuel (delivery) issue?!
When I pulled/replaced the injectors, I also blew back through the fuel line to clear anything between the filter and the fuel rails (filter was disconnected, obviously!). I also replaced the rails. Doesn't take much to clog an injector or 2 or 3...or 8! Keep us posted!

if you have half a tank you should be ok if you lower it level, you should be fine. I dropped mine with a full tank -~100 miles and ended up dumping gas everywhere, took about 4.5 gallons to fill it back up, so if you are sitting at half a tank, you will be fine.
