Weird Idle problem

I have a 1999 Convertible GT. The car runs fine except when I come to a stop, the idle drops to about 400RPM ( when warm ) and feels like it wants to stall. This happens for just a second and the idle returns to normal. Dealer is clueless. Please HELP....

IAC senser. idle air control valve. its wht makes your car idle. it gets dirty sometimes and you have to remove it and just spray it out with some carb cleaner, put a few q-tips in there and clean it out. do you know where the plenum on your car is? its is the little thing tht sticks right off of the front of the plenum held by two bolts

Dealer arlready replaced the IAC, still have the problem. Dealer has no answer. The car idles great except when I come to a full stop. The instant the wheels stop moving is when the idle drops for a second and returns to normal. By the way the car is a 5 speed and this happens when the clutch is not engaged coming to a stop.

yea my 2000 did the same exact thing.... cleaned the IAC throttle body and plennum.... no more issues.... last thing... do you have a powerful stereo? big amps as the car comes to a stop can drain the power and make your RPM's go down...

That happens to me when I dont shift properly and then stop and put the car in neutral, I think its abuse to the clutch thats making your car idle like that cause I gummed out my engine thoroughly last month. I usually make sure I shift properly and smoothly but since I drive the car everyday...sometimes the mind wanders...and at a red light idle the engine will ALMOST stall for just a second and then idle at the rpm again. This especially happens if I do that and have the AC on. But if I take off again and ease into every gear, making sure I dont ride the clutch and shift smoothly it won't do it again. If any of this sounds like you it may not be your intake...I dont know.

hey wouldn't hurt to check your spark plug wires. (start from the coil pack) this happened to my car a couple of months ago after i replaced my plugs and wires. i found one of the wires just barely makin it on the plug itself. may or may not be in your case, but mines ok now.
