Brake (ABS) Question...

Please tell me I am not the only person that has had this happen... every time that I stop when the car gets to around 1 mph the abs activates for about 2 seconds than the car stops... it is verry annoying... I recently upgraded to the 13" Cobra calipers and rotors in the front but it did this with stock brakes on it as well... There is no ABS light on and no Codes.... Please help...

Typically, the ABS will only kick in when one or more of the wheels is trying to skid.

Are you braking very aggressively?
Do your tires differ more than 1" in diameter?
I HATE ABS brakes!

I had this happen on a chevy Tahoe-
Turned out to be a wheel bearing was on it's way out and causing additional resitance/intermitent feedback to the ABS sensors.

If you've got a lot of miles on it, that might be something to have checked or replaced.

Check your wheel speed sensors. If not that then +1 on Jazzer

The front and rear tires are the same height and it happens during all types of stopping... hard, soft, slow, fast. I'll have to check the wheel bearings and wss this weekend... Thanks for the tips...

Also, you may check you balance. You don't want to find out one of your rear wheels is locking up when the others are working just fine.

I had this problem on a Cutlass. It was a cracked abs ring. The sensor read the crack as an additional mark and thought the wheels were turning at different speeds.
