Then in your Case you can Run 8 Quarts

I know that i would have issues running 7 Quarts considering my rotating assembly swings below the bottom of the block.

Judging someones knowledge by what year car they own is funny, You got alot of learning to do.

My 98 has a 04 motor.

And just for the Record my 98 when i still had the 4.6 Read Full at 6 Quarts.

Whoa guy calm down. I wasnt judging your knowledge. I was simply stating that a new edge takes more oil than an older model car. I never said you didnt know. The average person with a 98 and older wouldnt understand why we put 6+ quarts, is because they're cars dont take that much. I know if im doing an oil change, i need to buy 7 quarts.

I dont beleive anyone here was advocating that you put more oil in your car after the "full mark"

BTW, your 98 has an 04 motor, congratulations, you can have a cookie.

thats wrong... the 96-98 have pretty much the same motor... pistons, heads, cams and intake are really all thats different... the owners manual said 6qts then the 99 and 2000 said 5 but the 01 up say 6.. yet its the same pan...

as for jive running to much oil hes not... these pans are not 6qt pans and the aftermarket pans that are 7 are not 7 qt pans.... ford and a few well named shops did a test by using clear pan and timing cover and clear valve covers and at idle the mod motors are already down 2.5 qts let alone at 6k+ rpm.. thats why so many spin rod bearing cause they starve it of oil... cause so many are stuck with the old school way of thinking of the 5qts and 6k rpm and 6qts you have about 1.5qt or less of oil in the pan ...

6 qt's of Full synthetic 5w-20 is what I always run. In the past it was castrol now im using mobil 1 and its always to the full mark on the dip stick. jive that is interesting i didnt know that our pans could hold that much maybe next time ill run 6.5 and see how it does.
