Question for you guys. I've been talking to JJohnathon about this swap, and he claims that he did not have to modify the harness at all, that it just plugged right in. This thread claims otherwise. Then it dawned on me a minute ago: this swap was done on a Mach 1, not a gt, which uses a different main harness. Could this be why the harness on the trans needs to be modified? I have an 03 gt vert and I'm swapping in a trans from an 02. Will I need to modify my harness or not?

i have a saleen here at the shop that will be getting some work on. if i remember right, i will check the harness. it will be a while considering its an 800+hp build.

depends on where you get it. the mach cost about $1700 or so if i remember right, but it got a lot of extra stuff with it as well.

i consulted a few other people. the harness should be a direct plug in.

also, i discovered how to hook up the neutral safety for the manual so that it works just like stock. i'm putting everything in my second car now, the car goes in the shop tomorrow for the swap. i'll post up more details about the neutral safety later, right now i just need this thread to double check i have all the right parts lol

yeah, i wired in the clutch completely like stock. i didn't want to take any chances.

so i got the swap done today. first hiccup was that i bought the wrong flywheel (i need a 6 bolt, i had an 8). but the shop i took it to was actually able to machine it to have the correct 6 bolts so i didn't have to buy another flywheel.

the second hiccup (which i'm still having to deal with) is the speedometer. it's reading double. i have no other symptoms with the car, it's running fine otherwise. but my speedo is reading exactly double. i'm afraid to take the car above 75, because i only have a 150 mph speedo, and i don't want to break the speedo needle. my shop is also an SCT tuner, but he said that he couldn't find the cause, and to let him know if i did so he could fix it in the future. any suggestions guys? my car has stock gearing (which the tune is set for) and the trans is stock. and my back tires are 315/35/17's, but that is the exact same tire hight as a 245/45/17 (stock). i'm at a loss.

it won't get driven for a little while because while he was up in the air, he found that my front spring has broken, so i'm going after eibach to get me new springs.

i found out what is causing the speedo to be off. there are a different number of teeth in the speed sensor in the manual (the auto has 6, the manual has 12). my tuner never took this into consideration, thats why i'm reading double.

the other problem i'm having is that my clutch cable is so tight that my clutch pedal is all the way up, which i know isn't right. i'm looking for ways to let the tension out, or to find a longer cable.

and i can confirm that my transmission harness did not need to be modified, it plugged right in. i have an 03, and the trans came out of an 01.

just have your tuner change the parameters to a manual car. i had a stock mach tune sent to me and uploaded into car and worked just fine. as for cable, you running stock or aftermarket?
