Replacing a Clutch Without a Lift

Is it easy to replace a clutch with your Mustang on four jack stands? Is there anyway I can just slide the tranny back and rest it on the crossmember instead of completely removing it?

Thats what I was thinking cause I can't bench press that transmission while I'm taking the clutch assembly out.
