Short Throw....

If im not that comfortable installing a short throw myself, should i trust one of my friends to do it, or should i just get it installed professionally? Im getting my car lowered, so i was thinking about just having them install it then...thanks.

I don't think it's possible to be uncomfortable in changing out a shifter. It really is a really easy mod. Basic hand tools, and the ability to read simple instructions is all you need for that. But if your dead set on someone else doing it, I'd get it done when the springs were changed out. I don't really trust too many people when it comes to my car, and this includes my friends. If I can't do something, I'll find someone with a reputation that knows how...

Come on man, that is really the easiest install you will ever do. It was my FIRST install and took 20 minutes. Don't psych yourself out, just get on it and follow the directions.

Its about as easy as putting gas in your car. Just get a 12 pack and have at it. I did it in my garage while drinking and listening to music. Piece of cake.

if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself and you have a friend that's done it before, sure, ask him to help you out and show you how to do it. it's ok to feel unsure about how to do it if you've never done it before. but you're only gonna learn by doing it, so have your buddy run you through the install, and trust me, you'll be surprised by how easy it actually is. i certainly wouldn't throw money at a dealer or a shop to install it for me though. that'd just be throwing money away.

I was thinking about having mine installed until I read the directions. I'm pretty confident that when spring rolls around I will be able to do it myself.

I installed the MGW, i followed all the steps except for changing out the fluid. Its a great shifter in my opinion. Only took 45 minutes (wife was holding flashlight) could gone faster on my own. lol...

I did it in about 30 minutes. It was fairly easy if you just follow the directions to the T.

LOL Don't you just love it when they start questioning everything you do? The fliud part was the part I was wondering about. I had mine flushed and changed when I bought the car less than a year ago.
