exhaust fumes

My stang has been in storage for 4 years and just recently got it back on the road. changed the fluids and fuel pump and runs great. The only issue is exhaust fumes for the first few min of startup? It is pretty strong and does'nt smell like gas. It is'nt from under the car like a leak but out the pipes. After I drive for a few miles, like to work, it is normal. Any ideas what would cause it. I dont remember it ever doing that.

i would say to check to make sure everything is tight at the heads and mid pipe and O2, when the exhaust heats up it will seal the leak if it a loose fit. my old truck did that to me

could the o-rings have dried up pretty good? i mean 4 years is a looong time. maybe they let some oil slip past until the rings get some lubrication? thats why i stay away from car that have been sittin for more than a year, dried up rings

probably just needs to be driven a bit.. if it doesn't get better try jacking up the car and make sure all your exhaust is tight.. it could just be all the dust and shit burning off the exhaust

I agree with bob. Drive it around a bit and see if it continues.
