talking about gears got me thinking how tpfigure your ratio is it how many times the ds turn for a full tire rotation?

thanx bro just making sure I remembered it right. Someone said that with 3.73's going 80mph there at 2500rpm and thats where i am at so i might have 3.73's and not even know it??

I went with the tuner first. Then the gears. I would do it that way again, for the reasons mentioned before regarding the recalibration. Also for me the gears were a much more expensive upgrade. I did gears, SFC, IRS bushings and IRS brace all at once and the install of it all. Cost around $900-$1000 total.

Damn.

well this is still like split decision... say i got 3.90's how much would it affect my speedometer.. i know these cars really need 410's and much would i notice the difference in mpg with 410's

depends on what kind of driving you do. i do alot of in city driving and to tell the truth its a great city gear. i rarely get on the interstate that much, but its not that bad on the interstate at all. your about 500 RPM's higher than stock if im not mistaken (somebody correct me if im wrong.....i cant remember) doing about 75. plus its the "oh shit" factor every time i WOT that muther when i feel like playing around. push in every gear!!!

Pretty sure that's right if not really close. I went gears first purely because I got brand new ffrp 4.10's for 135 shipped back when they were 175ish.

GET IT TUNED.. that makes all the difference, and if you have any other mods it will help you to get the most of your care (hp and mpg), sure you can throw them in and recal you speedo, but a good shop can get you set up right so your rpms are fine.. don't sweat it, and get 4.10... </end of story>

ok a bit off subject but i have a tuner and 3.73 gears, i plugged in the gear ratio on the tuner but it still didnt recal the speedo, i got big tires in the rear is there something else i have to do?
