Not if the tune has advanced timing on it.

Most likely the timing is advanced. If so then the answer is no. You cannot use it. More than likely you can't use it. Im pretty sure its a canned tune for N/A applications.

1. Yes.
2. If its stock tune.. there is no need for a tuner... catch my drift? But for N/A or if your spraying a higher shot people like SCT and Sniper. Check what your local dyno operator uses as his software and get that.

What happens on a backfire is the engine goes too lean, and the cylinder becomes very hot and has hot spots glowing. When the intake valve opens, the incoming nitrous, air and fuel mixture is so combustable that it ignites independently of the ignition system, causing the mixture in the intake manifold to be ignited. Now, nitrous backfires happen on both wet and dry kits, but for different contributing causes. Both happen because the cylinder gets lean and pops back. A too low rpm engagement is the most common cause. The reason being that at a low rpm there isn't enough velocity for the fuel and nitrous combo to be carried into the port, so the fuel falls out a little causing a lean condition, and a pop.

So is that why it's a good idea to get it tuned then? I mean as far as making sure that your cars AFR is where it needs to be on all motor before firing the nitrous, and while the nitrous is engaged?

Yes, A/F and timing needs to be right.
