my stock bottom end/tranny
With the current setup, my Bullitt is making 410rwhp and 399rwtq. From what I gather reading all the threads, my stock 2v bottom end and t3650 shouldn't have any problems handling the decent numbers I'm putting out. Although my buddy swears I'm pushing the car to its limits. And looking at the dynosheet from JBA, the S/C is hitting upwards of 11psi at 6400+RPM with the 3.33" pulley. This is my daily driver, and I hit 6000+RPM maybe once or twice a day. Will my block/drivetrain be fine for quite some time?
Also, would an aluminum driveshaft be worth my time/money? Thanks for any inputs, guys

Not sure about the 11 psi but I have heard of people pushing the stock block further than that reliably. As for the drive shaft, it's less rotating mass so I think it would be worth it. It's pretty cheap anyways. People say they are alot smoother too.

if its your daily driver why you hitting 6k twice daily??
the driveshaft if a good investment and i heard they smooth things out alot especially at higher speeds so for your setup it would probably be in your best interest IMO. and your block should be ok till around 450-500 safely. anything more than that i think you need to strengthen it (correct me if im wrong here guys)

Depending on how it's tuned, the A/F ratios, the timing, the octane rating of the fuel you rn, and the spark plugs you run 400rwhp would be fine. I'm with these guys though, why are you hitting 6k rpm so often. Around here we call that "beating the piss out of it"
![]() The DS wouldn't be a bad idea. Less rotating mass means you'll get more power to the ground (less drivetrain hp loss), without putting more stress on the engine. You can pick them up fairly cheap on ebay or on some of the classifieds. Is your car auto or manual? At the same RWHP levels, an automatic makes a lot more hp at the crank.

block is good to 1000+....rotating assembly is good to about 450ish (I have been told the crank is good for roughly 600 though) aluminum DS is supposidly a pretty good mod...

yeah you'll be fine 460rwhp is the highest Ive seen. As long as the tune is good and you run good octane fuel you should be fine. Is your car inter cooled?
And FYI I'm still running my stock 3650 trans making 500+ hp

I am with these guys, you are fine for now but not much room to grow without forging.

Ok, maybe not once or twice a day hitting up to 6k. More like a couple times a week. I paid good money for that power, might as well enjoy it once in a while, right? Lol
![]() I got a good, safe tune from JBA over here. My numbers are on 91 octane, and yes, my system is intercooled. I really don't desire to make any more power, as I am happy with the way she drives. I just want to be sure that my stock motor is fine. But I'm sure if I ever plan to take it to the strip in the future, forged internals would be mandatory. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it

nice cougar bro. i used to have a 67 Xr-7 4 speed with a 302, it was awesome. i also had a 67 xr-7 GT which i regret selling. but oh well. you should be fine with that power as long as you're on street tires. you will be hard pressed to break any drivetrain components on street tires. i'd get your upper torque boxes reinforced though.
