Moving from 5.0 to 4.6

Hey guys,

I got raid of my 5.0 a long time ago and now getting back into a mustang. I'm looking for a New Edge with the PI heads and looking to make 350rwhp NA.

I can settle for 300rwhp NA if it's not possible. Where should I start to get that kind of power. I'm looking at a 2000 GT with 102K miles, getting it for $2500.

Is it possible to get those numbers with out blower or nitrous?

I've seen everyone talking about cams for these motor. How much rwhp are gain from a cam swap?

I need like a list of combos to use to achieve those numbers.

It's 5spd and will go with 4.10 gear.

Give me a combo that will give me roughly 300rwhp and over.

Goal set at 300 RWhp.

Help me out with some combos.

first of all, if your only going for 300-350 RWHP look at getting 4.30s. second of all have you considered 4V heads in lew of cams? lastly you should be looking into suspension and chassis work as much as your looking into motor work.

don't need a big list, for n/a just heads, cams, intake, full exhaust, full bolt ons, and tune and you are there, so pretty much about 5k worth of parts but gotta be careful for a car with that many miles adding that much power might not make it on the stock motor

you should also be looking at internals. you have high miles as it is and unless you plan on doig a motor swap when you motor takes a shit a set of forged internals could help your cause.

^bolt on shit like a tb and plenum are worthless, imo. LTs are too much work for little gain. get shorties if your getting headers.

It's not a track car, and it's not a daily driver. It's just a toy car to drive around evening and weekends when possible.

Knowledge me about the 4 valve heads and more about modding this motor?

How much will it cost for a rebuild with a set of heads cam and intake?

Can i use the STOCK internals, because I know it can handle more than 300rwhp?

300 RWHP with 4.10 is more than enough fun for me. Like I said this is a evening/weekend car. Not a race car nor a track car.

PS: I got all the suspension work out already I just need the combo to get me the 300rwhp.

you can use stock internals.
4v heads. are the best to date.
if you can get a pair. get them
nuff said.
they flow sooooo much more then 2v heads do.
low end tourqe suffers a little. but youll be so
happy you wont notice.

Full bolt ons and stage 2 cams, cms or hitech, put people right at the 300 rwhp range. It's not as complicated as it seems...
