Transmission PROBLEMS. Help

Short-

"...After i realize it just not going anywhere i go to put it back in Neutral...i put it in neutral and it still goes farward, like it's still in first. When i put it in reverse, it just dies..like it's not even there..."

LONG STORY
It has been a while since i've driven my car since here in IN we have too much snow. So yesterday i went out to start it and let it warm-up. Well, i go to back it up and it gets stuck in the middle of the road. After i realize it just not going anywhere i go to put it back in Neutral...i put it in neutral and it still goes farward, like it's still in first. When i put it in reverse, it just dies..like it's not even there.

Notes-
1.) I no longer feel that click when i put it in first, but its still there in every other gear.
2.) Brand new clutch put in about 1000 miles ago. Still seems to be working fine.

On the DSM forum that i frequent i was told [quote]
My guess is you prolly broke the shift fork for 1 & 2 and the tranny is stuck in 1st. When you go into reverse and let the clutch out, the tranny is in 2 gears at once and is locked up thereby killing the engine.[quote]

Does ^^that^^ sound about right?

I appreciate any comments or help!!!
Thanks,
Jeff

I don't know, guy. I sure wouldn't crank it up and try to drive it anymore, it may be a fork or shift linkage or whatnot but so far it sounds like it could be fixed without a complete rebuild. I'd have it put on a flatbed wrecker and taken to your local tranny shop of choice. It's going to have to come out and be opened up to see.
