yeah the 35w was on back order but they had 55w in still.

would the hi/lows still work or is it just easier to get the single beam?

haha, yup same thing happened to me, Previous owners were POS lol. Be careful though, everyonce and a while my HID's will go out on the side that the harness is broke. I usually just have to hook the connection back up

Hi/lows should work fine I just didn't do those. I would actually imagine with hi/low kit it would be even more plug and play. You shouldn't have to use the blue adapter and bare wire like I did. I would think it would have a standard plug connected to the bulb but I don't know for sure.

I would seriously spend the extra $20 or whatever for the slims. I didn't think about mounting before I bought then and had a fairly tough time mounting them. They also didn't come with a bracket, just two sided tape. The slims come with an actual bracket I believe. The tape seems to be holding ok, but I would feel better with an actual bracket but oh well.

I electrical taped the adapter to the stock socket so they shouldn't come apart. If they do, I'll get a set of sockets from the junkyard and splice those into where the broken one is.

actually on the dual beams the blue adapter is still there, but the wires are not in it. so you kinda gotta guess as to what goes where. I first had the high and low switched, but s simple pin swap cleared that right up.
