Hid install problem

So I've got the raptor v2 hid kit from ddm tuning. Went to install it today, got everything hooked up and no lights. I tried switching the plug on the ballast around the other way and still no lights. Put the stock bulbs back in and have lights. I would assume the bare wires that plug into the blue socket are red for hot and black for ground. Tried both high and low beams to see if I had them in the wrong spot on the socket but they don't work either way. Everything else can only plug in one way so I'm not sure where the problem is.

Anyone have any idea?

The way I hooked these up was

Stock Socket-->blue adapter-->bare wires-->plugs off ballast into plugs off bulb-->plug off bulb into ballast itself.

That's all there is

I didn't mount anything. Wanted to test it before I went mounting the ballast. So unhooked it all, put the stock bulbs back in and brought the kit inside. I can hook it up in here and take a pic.

Im just trying to remember how i hooked my HID's up. i installed them a year ago so it's been a while. hang on, let me do a little search. I had some threads i asked in here that might help you. let me dig them out.

Also did you get Highbeams as well? If you have Highbeams i can't help you.

No single beam only. I thought maybe i'd plugged the bare wire into the wrong spot and tried the highs as well but still didn't work. The only thing I didn't try was putting the red wire in the ground spot. I can't imagine they would've made black the hot and red the ground.

that pic is exactly how I had the stuff plugged into the adapter, and everything else can only plug in one way but no light. Doesn't flash or anything.

how hard did you have to shove the exposed wires into the blue adapter? And do they only go in one way?

i remember i shoved them in there pretty hard. I made sure they were snug and were in all the way. I do not remember if they went in one way however. If you want i can get a picture for you. My car is at another location, but i will be going there more then likely tomorrow and i can get a picture and see if they only went in one way or something.

before you get too excited, try starting your car first then turn them on. you might not have enough amps to get the ballast warmed up enough to ignite the bulbs

Here is how I had them wired in the car with the stock harness going into the other side of the blue adapter

I did try starting the car first and then firing them, no difference

Never mind. Different kit. I'll have to go out and look to see. But if memory serves correctly I believe that the red wire is in the middle and the black one is off to the side.

Ok reinstalled tonight and got them up and running. Black in the middle, red on the right hand side. I didn't have the black and red pushed to the point they clicked in before. This time I felt them click and they work wonderfully. Thanks so much to everyone in this thread, reps for everyone.

Whoever had the car before broke the Clips on the stock harness so I was forced to really tape up the stock harness and the adapter to get a good connection. So far so good tho

I got the 55w single beam kit. That's the same setup I had in my old focus and I never needed high beams and from driving last night, it would appear to be the same in the mustang.

I do wish I had gone with the digital slims just for ease of mounting but no big deal. I just think the slims would give more mounting options.

Last time I was on DDM they were backordered on a couple models. Wanna say the 55w raptors, and 35w digitals.
