Yea, as the title says, i know the throws will be shorter, but will they be smoother, like silky, mines already pretty smooth, but i would like to know before i spend 200 bucks, any opinions on the Pro 5.0 for the t-3650?

PRO 5.0 or MGW are the only 2 options in my opinion.
And no a short shift gives you a SOLID Feel.Gets rid of all the sloppiness of the stock shifter and actually makes you feel like your driving the car so to speak. Great upgrade over stock any day.

No personal experiance with the pro 5.0 but my buddy has a MGW and that thing goes in and out of gear like butter and it's so tight u just barely touch it and it goes in gear so smooth. Unlike the stock shifter, where u have to put sone decent force into shifts. Don't get me started on the notchy feel of that stocker

i still dont get it though, how does the shifter make improve feel, it just seems like the same thing, just a shorter throw. Isnt it properties of the transmission that determines the smoothness or notchyness?

mine still feels notchy, just feels more solid. stock shifter has a rubber block in it iirc, making it feel a bit sloppy but probably absorbs some vibrations or w/e

My sixxer has a stock shifter and my cobra has a MGW (i believe that is lol). The sixxer feels extremely sloppy and moves around a lot. The cobra on the other hand is very sturdy and sharp so to speak. When you shift in the cobra it actually makes noticeable clicks as it moves.
I could get a video shifting both the sixxer and cobra and i'm sure even in a video you'd be able to tell how much difference there is |

stockers use plastic bushings that wear, after markes ones dont. that is why they feel so solid. sorry to be out of my 5.0 section but thought another opinion would help. I have a tri ax in my car. it is very similar to pro 5.0. it was in there when i bought it. if i had to buy another, it would be the mgw because it is more adjustable to suit the driver. i am happy with my tri ax though.

i have the pro 5.0 and it is just all around a lot more solid and i neeeeever miss a gear its nearly impossible. its not as smooth but i love the solid feel when you go into a gear it is a bit more notchy than the stock one but i will sacrifice a little comfort to save my tranmission cause the 2 to 3 shift in these cars are brutal on the tranny without a aft. shifter. i bent my shift fork with my sloppy stock shifter, get you a shifter sooooooon!

My MGW is just shorter throws...I complained that it didn't "feel like butter" like other said it would, unless you are sitting still or driving at WOT...all the other times of regular driving, there is some resistance when going into gears.

The MGW has a very strong centering spring which makes popping the car in N or 3 pretty easy. When you shift with an aftermarket shifter the shifts are in a straight line, there is no play in the gear, where you can move the stick around at all. Very tight, very precise. The MGW is pretty notchy and tight the first few weeks, but after that its pretty smooth. I can't imagine a better shifter. Also, if you take the stock shifter out and compare between the aftermarket and stock, you'll find that there are a lot less bushings and rubber, and the little "dradle" that slides through the H pattern, is different.
