4r70w how strong


how strong is it. what horsepower have you put through it.

I have a stall and cooler how much will this help. going to putting about 500+ through it with bottle

with a stall and cooler...and a good tuner I should be ok with 500rwhp give or take.

stock 1- drive will handle pretty much you can throw at it.....O/D is the weak point.....get a built tranny and 600+ should be reliable.......

I've seen 700+ put thru them (after upgrades of corse) with no problems. by far the strongest tranny for our stuff.

Its funny you say that O/D is the weak point, Why would you count on O/D for anything but putting down the highway.

I busted my overdrive 3 yrs ago...and got the upgraded duel o-ring servo and rebuilt the tranny because the O/D c-clip popped off....this is mostly to let others know that 1-D works like a champ.....but mild runs on the freeway going into overdrive can toast it.....stay in drive at WOT and you will never have any problems...
