Hood Pins, Opinions Anyone??

I am almost ready to drop the hammer and get these hoods pins:

Shelby Mustang Black Aluminum Hood Pin Kit (05-09) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Ignore the 05-09 part, I know these will work on my '03 GT. Leaning towards these for I like the black for one, and I know someone that put these on their '04 GT (well the chrome ones, I like black). With that said, what do you guys think? I like the look, just want to make sure before drilling holes in my hood. Plus, I am very picky about my car. I have seen some install jobs that look like crap on the underside of hood (like my friend's '04). Anyone use rubber grommets on the underside to clean it up, or do you just smooth out the drill area best as you can? Here are pics of my car, what do you think? Hood pins or no hood pins?

Agreed.

Or if you do drag racing or AutoX and have a fiberglass or carbon fiber hood I would get them since it be useful.

i like the look of them but i hate them on mine...i wish the guy that painted mine would have made my hood fit right but instead he put the hood pins in cause he couldn't get it to latch...i hate them cause they are aggravating and they will scratch the paint if your not careful

I like them for full drag or a fast street car who can back them up. I have thought about them but on our New Edge style it doesn't look the greated. The S197 and MAYBE a fox can pull them off but its a old school Mustang look....I mean if your running a 4in cowl or bigger and run 10's or below..get them ...but its needs to be a cowl hood.

I think it looks pretty sweet. Better on a ol shelby buttt.... I like watching the kids at the gas station struggle trying to get the hood open hehe. And yes I do know my oil.

I love the "back up hood pins" comment. That is hilarious to me. I have them on my car. I don't think they look bad at all. Is my car a 10sec beast? Far from it. It is a freggin mall cruiser. I don't feel I need to "back up" my hood pins. Hood pins do not signify race car. Personally I would not have put them on my car if it was not for all the shaking I get from my aftermarket hood in the corners at interstate speeds.

To each his own though. If you like them, get them. If you don't like them. Well that should be self explanatory. Now would I spend $109 on hood pins. Hell to the no.

Well put and I agree, I wouldn't pay that price for them. My cost is significately less luckily. Decisions, decisions....

It's cool man. Now really pointed at you. I hear/read that a lot. Just always found it funny. All of us want our cars to look good, and when you make a Mustang look good, it looks fast. So that is why the comments like that always kill me .
