Powdercoat SVT wheels YAY or NAY

Hi everyone! I have an 03 GT with a set of chrome 17" SVT wheels. I like the look of these wheels but don't really care too much for chrome. I am working on a limited budget at this time so i've been debating on trying to get someone to trade me a set of black wheels or just getting these powdercoated black. I got a quote from a shop that would powdercoat them for $75 a wheel. Do you all think that's a good price and should I do it or not? Here's a pic of what my car looks like. Thanks!

Thanks! I just bought the car two weeks ago so I haven't been able to run it at the track yet. I bought the car with everything installed from a dealer and haven't been able to run down the previous owner to get any info about track times or such. I also think theirs some other stuff done to the car cause it literally blows the doors off my friends 01 GT auto but I can't confirm anything besides the ones I can visibly see. I'm hoping the see mid 13's atleast. Where I live we're just a few hundred feet above sea level and the track prep is decent where I go. I can guarantee you though the first track day we have i'll find out. I see you have a 13.7 posted for your car what all have you done to it?

that was a while back..i had shorty bbk headers, off road x pipe(ran with no mufflers), underdrive pulleys, cold air intake, and a diablosport tuner, and i was on 17in stocks with street tires and 1.5in. wheel spacers..
since then ive added a 75mmthrottle body, hit-tech stage 2 cams, and i got 3.73's brand new in my garage waiting to get installed....but im seriously thinking about going 4.10's...and still need to get the plenum...i want to be low 13's after

nice looking car dales.. i would keep the chrome personally... but black would look pretty mean. maybe if you want to powdercoat, you should trade me wheels first

I don't think 13.7 is a bad time with those mods and tires. I'm gonna stick with my 3.73's since I plan on FI in a few years. I would wet my pants if I could break into the low 13's with these mods but I don't think I will.

Thanks for the compliment! Don't you already have wheels like mine? If not what do you have?

I don't think his are chrome.

Personally I hate chrome. I would powdercoat them black. However, if I could find someone with satin to swap out with, I would do that.

I'm with you on the not liking chrome, I'm not sure how powerdercoating it would work, though. Do they media-blast the chrome off first, or just powdercoat on top of it?
