unless you have horrid credit, a private party sale of 16k would not equal that high of a payment. but, i hear ya. still, no matter how much you have in a gt, its still only a gt. though if you never plan to sell it, its no biggie. just always ends up being more expensive when you do conversions than you plan.

A front end wrecked one came up here a month or so ago for 6k. Considering the damage didn't look bad at all, I'd have to bet it's long gone by now.

Like the others have said, just buy one. Salvaged ones are going to go for a lot purely because of how easy it is to part them out.
For example:
Seats 800-1k
Front or rear bumper-300-500per
rockers- 200-250
mirrors-200-300
wing/decklid combo-350-600
Engine - several k easily, more with harness and ecu.
IRS swap...you get the idea.

And not to sound like a jerk, but I've been looking for a few termi parts via a...lets call it a source...and its like starving wolves ravaging a dead deer the minute the deer starts to fall to the ground. (no im not flaming this other "source", I'm just trying to say that it can be very cut-throat and almost nasty)

The stuff I highlighted in red is the crap that I don't want. That's why I'm thinking I can get a wrecked termi for cheap, because I don't care it it doesn't have any body panels and the interior is completely gone. I want the performance stuff from it. A lot of people overlook the things that I look at like brake calipers, a-arms, non-baffled fuel tank, crossmember, driveshaft, etc. and they look at the hood, bumper, doors, etc. I'm looking for a cobra that looks completely beat to hell and on it's last leg cosmetically and then I'll pull the performance stuff off of it
